Danielle & Dan's John Forrest National Park Engagement Shoot
Danielle & Dan. One of the sweetest, most loved up couples I have ever met. They absolutely adore one another and I was lucky enough to be able to document their love, from their engagement through to their wedding day.
Danielle & I knew one another from growing up in the same town but we first really connected when Danielle wrote me the most beautiful heart felt message after resonating with one of my posts about 'Dancing with the fear' ; my anxieties and the self criticism I've dealt with over years of trying to turn my art into a business.
We talked in depth about social anxieties and things that had been holding us back from being able to be our best selves. Danielle mentioned she was just about to marry her high school sweetheart Dan and she would love for me to be able to capture their connection and that she trusted me enough to make them feel comfortable in front of my lens.
I met Dani & Dan at Architects & Heroes one Sunday afternoon just as Dan was finishing his shift. Dani was such a high spirited, sweet, beautiful girl and Dan was the most down to earth and passionate guy. They told me their story, how they met and their journey up till their engagement. I loved them the instant I met them.
I remember receiving the most beautiful response to my packages '100% yes please oh please can you be our wedding photographer. I feel like there honestly isn't another person that could capture us as humans perfectly, let alone our love in such an accurate and genuine way. Having you there on the day would be a blessing, and is a huge element adding to the excitement.'.
Here is a preview of the engagement shoot I shot for them. We decided to go on a little adventure to John Forrest National Park, shoot and find a ceremony location for their intimate January wedding. It was so much fun, hiking to the tunnel and back. Stopping for portraits along the way.
After the sun set beyond the hill we headed down the the Light Up Leederville Festival for dinner!
